bullet  General Notes:

Bought farm on Lot 13, Concession 3. (Manotick Station Road). Today (1999), this is called "Miller's Sheep Farm". Around 1850, this farm was owned by Thomas O'Rourke whose father was John O'Rourke and his mother was Mary Burns. They were from County Cork, Ireland. Isn't that a Corker? John George Burns and his family left this farm in 1934 and moved to Ottawa. In Ottawa they lived originally at 361 Cambridge Street, corner of Arlington. We all attended St. Anthony's Church at Booth and Gladstone. The three eldest children (Frank, Kay and Ida) attended the Herbert's Corner's School which is a flower nursery today. The tree youngest children attended the school on the Manotick Station Road (see Newspaper article).
