The death of Mr. W. Carruthers, an old and respected identity of Yatina, is announced. Born in Dumfrieshire, Scotland, 82 years ago, he came to South Australia in the ship John Bunyan about 53 years ago. He settled near Adelaide, and afterwards removed to Mount Barker, and later to Yatina, on the Blackrock Plains, where he had lived as a farmer for the past 32 years. He had been a prominent supporter of the Methodist Church. The deceased left three sons - Richard Carruthers, of Adelaide; Andrew Carruthers, of Broken Hill; and Edward Carruthers, of Petersbur
