Carruthers de Hurkledale. Ejus Uxoris quae obit 14th Sep 1696 AEtatis Suae 72.

Translation: Grave of the family of Whitecroft in hope of blessed ressurection, his ashes, may they rest, Walter Carruthers of Nether Denbie then Whitecroft, 4th born son of Francis Carruthers of Dormont, who died 20th Feb 1704 who age was 78, and also, Janet Carruthers, daughter of Guliehill Carruthers of Hurkeldale, his wife, who died 14th Sep 1696, her age was 72.

The grave also has two marble plaques but they are illegible.
