Cause of his death was senile decay.
Peter is described as the depositor for the ship fare Plymouth to Sydney for his brother in law John Carruthers, and the Rev David Ritchie who married Peter and Mary was the referee for John. Peter came to Australia circa 1854 according to his death certificate. Peter sailed between Tasmania and Sydney on a regular basis. Informant at time of death was his stepson H.B. Williams. There were no children to either of Peter's marriages.
